Shuanglin temple

Located 13 Kilometres south of Yiwu City Shuanglin comprises of two major Chinese Zen temples containing huge Buddha’s, adjacent monk’s quarters and a trail up to a mountain top pagoda.
The temple complex is known to have a rich history stretching back over a thousand years involving many fires and renovations. In 1993 plans were made for its most recent refurbishment which cost up to 2 Billion RMB and in 1997 the work was completed.

The atmosphere really is tranquil and it’s totally enjoyable appreciating the presence of nature like the sounds of the frogs in the lake and seeing tadpoles in the puddles in the temple grounds.

The massive golden Buddha in the back temple is totally inspiring and is very unlikely to be swarming with visitors. Enjoy.
