On June 11 two chartered flights full of businessmen took off from Yiwu to Dubai . More than 300 passengers from over 100 enterprises which will attend the Dubai Exhibition of Yiwu Fair raised the curtain of “Yiwu Market Around the World”. It is learned that this exhibition is aimed at the exploration of new markets for enterprises and the transition of the business people from shopkeepers to itinerant traders.
Over 300 Yiwu businessmen exploring overseas markets
    At the beginning this year the CPC Yiwu Committee and Yiwu government regarded the year 2009 a year of “market exploration” among which the “Yiwu market around the world” was of vital importance . He Meihua，the Yiwu Mayor，said that the international demands for high-level commodities decreased due to the financial crisis and the Yiwu commodities gained more shares of the market for their good quality and reasonable prices.
    The Dubai exhibition has been the first overseas one since Yiwu had the privileges to hold the international exhibition as a county-level city in 2007 and it was held in the Dubai International Exhibition Center from June 14 to 16 with 200 booths and an exhibition area of 4，000 square meters. And the various industries attend the exhibition such as daily housewares，arts and crafts，ornaments，clothes，stationeries，hardwares，suitcases and textile.
    Why was Dubai the first stop of overseas market exploration？The director of China Commodity City Group said that Dubai，with close trade tie between Yiwu，is an important harbor and trader center of the Gulf and even the whole Middle East as well as an important market for Yiwu. He Meihua said that Dubai is a free trade zone of the Middle East and it has strong radiation effects on the whole Middle East，North Africa and even the Russian markets.
