Recently, Yiwu Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affair Office, Yiwu Agriculture and Countryside Work Office and Chi’an Township Government jointly held an event called countryside leisure tour for foreigners, in a bid to strengthen communication with foreigners in Yiwu, enabling them to better understand and melt into the city.
    The event was well organized. Foreigners took part in a variety of activities, such as making Qingming pastry, watching agricultural cultivation, tasting farmhouse food, mountain-climbing, visiting ancient wall and so on. They also participated Qingming pastry competition. The waist drum performance of the village won everybody’s applause. The beautiful countryside scenery and warm hospitality of local people left a deep impression on foreign friends.

    The 14 foreigners who participated the event come from 12 countries, including India, South Korea, US, Australia, Britain, Holland, Chile, Congo，etc.. And their professions range from businessmen, teachers, students to managers of hotel and enterprise. They said that the event provided them a chance to enjoy Mother Nature and socialize with each other, making them feel at home in Yiwu.
